The world of Valorant, developed by Riot Games, is set in a near-future Earth transformed by a mysterious global phenomenon called First Light. One of the most powerful organizations in this new era is Kingdom Corporation, a multinational company that dominates the extraction and research of Radianite. Kingdom has built facilities around the world and plays a major role in developing technologies based on this resource, though its monopolistic control and secretive experiments have made it controversial.

 

To manage global threats related to Radianite, a covert task force called the Valorant Protocol recruits elite agents from around the world, including both Radiants and technologically equipped operatives. Later lore reveals that conflicts often occur between parallel versions of Earth competing for Radianite resources.
